First Trips – Episode 65 of The Thoughtful Travel Podcast

The Thoughtful Travel Podcast returns after a break to deal with changing from a network to just lil’ ol me and we are talking all about first trips.

I explain what I remember of my first trip abroad – to Hong Kong, en route to Europe – in some detail in the early part of this episode, but what I failed to say that somehow, since then (over thirty years ago!) I have never made it back to Hong Kong. I really want to get there and someday soon I will, I hope.

I’d love to hear about your first trip – whether it was within your home country or abroad. Let me know in the comments or hop over to the Thoughtful Travellers Facebook group and tell me!

First Trips

Hearing about people’s first trips is fascinating and Episode 65 of The Thoughtful Travel Podcast is all about the first times some very experienced travellers ventured out of their comfort zones.

First up, Alicia Nelson talks about the first trip she took without her family. A school trip to Washington DC turned out to be pretty life-changing.

Sharon Gourlay of Where’s Sharon is one of the most well-travelled people I know, and yet when I spoke to her about her first trips abroad, she told me some very surprising stories!

Finally, Carolyn Schonafinger joins The Thoughtful Travel Podcast for the first time and has some interesting tales to tell about her first trip abroad and also her first trip to her now beloved Europe.
