April? APRIL! March has positively soared past here because we’ve been entering a totally fabulous visitor from Canada (more on her soon) which has meant I’ve been figuring out which parts of my home state of Western Australia should be seen by a very experienced traveller.
This visitor was not one who I’d simply take for a picnic in Kings Park and a trip out to Caversham Wildlife Park (as nice as it is). No, she’s more like me and was keen to explore local supermarkets (an essential first-day-in-a-new-country outing for me); after seeing it on my blog she also spent a few nights camping at Rottnest Island, one of my favourite places in the world. She also did the real “local” things – meeting up with some Perth guide dog puppy raisers (since she’s done the same back in Canada) and even participating in my travel writing course. I have loved showing her how we live here in Perth and have adored having a fellow travel-addict to chat to most evenings!
Anyway, aside from entertaining a lovely friend, I’ve also joined the team for the great Wanderlust Travel Linkup this year and I’m the host for April – which is pretty exciting!
