On Keeping a Travel Journal – Episode 32 of The Thoughtful Travel Podcast

Ah, travel journals. One of my favourite topics, as you know. And something that takes up several shelves in my bookcase, too.

I’m fascinated to hear about other people’s habits when it comes to journalling, and I’m pleased to say that my three guests today are quite committed journal keepers. (Or at least, in one case, his wife is, and he appreciates it thoroughly!). When I’ve run courses about travel journalling both here in Perth and online, I’ve been amazed by the variety of methods people have developed to keep a journal or diary of some sort while they travel, and my guests today are no exception to this.

Do let me know in the comments – or in the Thoughtful Travellers Facebook group – about your own travel journal habits. You know I want to know!

On Keeping a Travel Journal

Lots of people keep a travel journal when they travel and in episode 32 of The Thoughtful Travel Podcast, I talk with three guests about their travel diary habits. Chris Christensen of the long-running Amateur Traveler podcast kicks things off by describing the journalling habits he has learnt from his wife, a hardcore travel journal keeper from way back!

After Chris, I speak with Aggie Lim, who keeps varied travel journals including sketches and all kinds of paraphernalia. Finally, Holly Galbraith talks about how her commitment to keeping travel journals has ebbed and flowed over the years, but like many, she’s happier when she’s got a great record of her travels to refer back to.
